Cano Health - Hialeah GMP

I came to this location last week for my yearly visit with Dr. Aponte.. I also had a cold so I felt this visit would be perfect to address it. At no point during my visit did I get a physical exam, he did however prescribe me 3 medications for my cold and told me I had to schedule two separate appointments for blood work and then a follow up after that. I didn’t really want to think much of it but I found it odd that my yearly physical exam wasn’t done.. fast forward, I go pick up my prescription and one of the medications he prescribed which was supposed to be a nasal spray, ended up being medicine for cold sores. I rushed to urgent care with my nose burning, and I was advised not to use the medication anymore and to contact my PHP to get to the bottom of why he prescribed this. For the past two days I’ve been trying to call this office to no avail, and today his assistant calls me and tells me she doesn’t understand why the medicine made me sick, that maybe im allergic to it. I proceeded to tell her I had another physician tell me to STOP using it, it’s not a nasal spray, it’s to treat skin rashes/cold sores! She nervously tells me that the doctor will call me soon. About an hour later the doctor calls me and tells me he’s calling me about my “phone consultation”.. I immediately become upset because at no point did I schedule an appointment!! I’m simply calling to get answers to the mistake your office made! I let him know I didn’t schedule a visit and I ask him “will my insurance be billed for this?” To which he replied “I can not say”. Are you serious??? You prescribe the wrong medication and you want to bill my insurance so that I can get an response over the phone?. I left him know I did not schedule any visit and that I will be reaching out to my insurance, because enough is enough! He began to ramble about it possibly being a mistake by his office or maybe the pharmacy.. again I ask, how so?!!!! The pharmacy gave me what you guys prescribed! He couldn’t give me a for sure answer and I could tell this call wasn’t about fixing the mistake.. it was to bill my insurance. I strongly suggest you all avoid this clinic! What a scam!!

A little bit unprofessional it’s not organize they tell you when is your appointment exactly keep you waiting for a really long time I been for 2 hour my appointment was 1:30 Right is 3pm unprofessional, and totally unprofessional. They need to keep this scheduling organized the patient cannot wait for so long feel bad about this place

Honestly a great place! Aside from seeing my PCP, now I am doing their Cano Fusion IV Therapy which I love. The prices are much better than most places that do IV Therapy, they also give you a lot of options when it comes to payment. The best part.... they even lowered the price. I have recommended them to my family and friends and everyone comes out super happy.

I love this office! The office manager, Stephanie has been there forever and knows all the patient by first name, she truly goes above and beyond to help everyday. They have a great team and work together to get the job done. I can be seen by any of the doctors there with no problem. Knowing that they have all been trained by Dr.Piedra who has over 30 years experience is very comforting. You don’t find offices like this anymore and I have recommended them to all my family! EXCELLENT !!

Went to Cano-GMP medical, in Hialeah, to get my yearly physical assessment done, the staff was wonderful and very attentive, everyone is professional. I was in and out the clinic quickly, my labs were done with in the facility which is very convenient for me since I am in school with limited time to spare and the doctor is simply amazing! I would recommend this facility to everyone I know.

Every time I go to see my doctor the office feels like home, the staff is friendly and professional. Gloria Piedra is the best doctor 👩‍⚕️ I ever had, ARNP’s Carmen and Ruben are also very kind and dedicated... The IV therapy they offer helped me a lot in my day to day routine, I am grateful for the service they provide.The have the best PASTELITOS ever.
